Cash Time Gives the Stable A Treble!

Cash Time had it all to do, first time at the Vaal and first time over 2000m, but he handled it well and under a top ride by former champion jockey Piere Strydom, he got the best out Cash Time to win a competitive race. It may pay to follow Cash Time through the season, he is a progressive sort and should continue improving. Congratulations to owners Mrs  Ebrahim And Messrs M Wright, P Haripersad & A Fortune. Fish River Canyon Relishes The Soft Conditions!

Fish River Canyon  enjoyed the soft underfoot conditions to win the third race of her career in good style at the Vaal over 1500m on 23 November 2017. Once again well ridden by champion apprentice Lyle Hewitson, he gave her every chance and produced his run at the right time to win comfortably. Congratulations to owner Hylton Odendaal and his family. Fish River Canyon was bred by Summerhill Stud.

Gavin Gets The Best Out Of Casino!

Under a polished ride from leading jockey Gavin Lerena, Casino shed her maiden tag in good style at the Vaal over 2400m on Thursday 23 November 2017. Congratulations to the Love Racing One Syndicate(Nominee Ashleigh Hughes). Casino was bred by Bosworth Stud!

Super Sam is Aerobatic!

Leading workrider Sam Mosia, showed why he is at the top of the pile in the workrider series. He rode a well judged race to get Aerobatic in front where it matters most, in so doing she shed her maiden tag at Turffontein  on Sunday 19 November 2017.  Congratulations to the owners; Marge, Duncan & Julie Alexander; Darren Simpson & Adrian Giuricich. Aerobatic was bred by Summerhill Stud!

 

1800m not too far for Unagi!

Unagi made it back to back wins, this time over 1800m, a distance he tried for the first time at the Vaal on the 11 November 2017. Unagi is now a six time winner, and the son of Admire Main is on the up. Jockey Craig Zackey rode a copy book race, he placed him in the box seat and then produced him at the right time to win comfortably. Congratulations to owners Bruce & Jo Gardner, Pravin Chetty, Greg Sadie & Darren Simpson. Unagi was bred by Summerhill Stud!

The Empire Strikes Back!

King & Empire came from off the pace under a top ride by leading apprentice Lyle Hewitson to grab the spoils in the shadow of the post, over 1400m at Turffontein on the 31 October 2017. This was King & Empire’s fourth victory and there may be more to come from this son of Brave Tin Soldier. Congratulations to owners; Adrian Giuricich; Mark Francis : Dereck Michael & Dean Alexander. Unagi Blows Them Away!

After his facile win at Turffontein over 1600m on Saturday 21 October 2017 shouldering 61.5Kg. They may just name a hurricane after him,  “Unagi”,  made a talented field look ordinary when he quickened away in the final 300m to go onto win by almost three lengths at the line. Well ridden by former South African Champion jockey, Gavin Lerena, he had Unagi close to the pace and made his move early in the straight to go on and win a good contest. Unagi has a distinct liking for this course and distance and should be followed when racing over 1600m on the inside track at Turffontein. Congratulations to the owners Bruce & Jo Gardner, Pravin Chetty, Greg Sadie & Darren Simpson. Unagi a son of Admire Main was bred by Summerhill Stud!

“Elmo “ Effective over 1800

The Elmo Effect showed he has a distinct liking for the 1800m at Turffontein on the inside track. He fought on gallantly to snatch victory in the final few strides from Hidden Agenda on Saturday 14 October 2017. Under a Top ride by Champion apprentice Lyle Hewitson, The Elmo Effect responded well to his urgings and finished best of all to prove that his win in the Drum Star Handicap was no fluke. This  son of Admire Main is owned in partnership by Pravin Chetty & Hylton Odendaal and was bred by Summerhill Stud.

Miyoshi Makes His Mark!

In only his second start and over a distance of 1200m which is a bit on the short side for him, Miyoshi fought on resolutely,  under a strong ride by jockey Mark Khan, to win his maiden at Turffontein on the 25 September 2017. It could pay to follow Miyoshi during the season. Congratulations to owners Bruce & Jo Gardner, Darren Simpson & Gary Alexander. Miyoshi was bred by summer hill Stud.



Fish River Canyon At The Line!

Champion South African apprentice Lyle Hewitson,  timed his run on  Fish River Canyon to perfection,  to get her in front at the line to win a competitive MR 68 Fillies & Mares Handicap over 1600m at Turffontein on 19 September 2017. Fish River Canyon is back in form and could follow up in a similar race soon. Congratulations to owner Hylton Odendaal and his family! Fish River Canyon was bred by Summerhill Stud.
