TURF TALK

So Sassi!

Sassi Model shed her maiden over a trip(1700m) on the short side for her at the Vaal on 11 May 2017. Under a confident ride by jockey Andrew Fortune, he had Sassi Model well placed on got her going early to get up where it matters most. This daughter of Brave Tin soldier should continue to improve and it could pay to follow her. Congratulations to owners Greg Bortz, Bryn Ressell & Julie Alexander. Sassi Model was bred by Summerhill Stud.

Top Shot is Tops Again!

After a disappointing run in the Drum Star Handicap last time out,  Top Shot returned to the track after a short break to make amends in no uncertain manner. Well ridden by leading jockey Andrew Fortune, he had Top Shot well placed throughout the race and presented him 300m out to win well over 1600m at Turffontein on Monday 01 May 2017. This was Top Shot’s 6th win and the son of AP Arrow may now be aimed at bigger things. Congratulations to Bruce & Jo Gardner, Greg Sadie & Mark Khan. Top Shot was bred by Summerhill Stud!

Cold Cash too Hot for Rivals!

Cold Cash is on the up and won a good contest from post to post over 1800m, under an enterprising ride from jockey Marco Van Rensburg, on Saturday 29 April 2017, in so doing gave the stable a quick double. It may pay to follow this smart daughter of Bankable. Congratulations to Laurence,  & Jarryd Wernars, Anthony Joannides, Adrian Guiricich & Julie Alexander. Cold Cash was bred by Summerhill Stud!

Blinkers work for Musette!

Blinkered for the first time Musette, under a confident ride by leading Jockey Craig Zackey, produced a powerful finish to break her maiden easily at Turffontein on Saturday 29 April 2017. This was the first time Musette went over ground and although she travelled a tad too hard in the early stages, she kept finding which suggests she may even go further than 2000m. Congratulations to Bruce and Jo Gardner, Laurence, Tessa and Jarryd Wernars and Greg Sadie. Musette was bred by Summerhill Stud
